Parents and Students, 

I am thrilled to kick off our 2025 season of marching band with the information in this email. I am really looking forward to this season - in fact, I believe this will be our most fun and exciting season we've ever had. Students often talk about the "vibe" of a season, and with our show design process so far, this season is looking to be one of the best. We have an amazing show in development, some awesome new staff, and will even be hiring a new Assistant Director this coming year. It is going to be incredible. 

Our Step Off Meeting will be Thursday, February 27 at 7:00 PM in the CVHS Auditorium. We will also have a New Member Information Night on Wednesday February 19, for incoming 9th graders or any 10-12 grade students who have not participated before. 

Please find attached our 2025 Crimson Regiment Contract. There you can find the answers to many questions about the upcoming season. I have also attached our Crimson Regiment Calendar. We will have a google calendar up and running soon. 

The contract can look overwhelming at first, but please come to the meetings! We will answer any questions, tell you more about the season, and for those of you who are new, explain it all so that it feels manageable. 

As many of you know, I have spent the last 3 months fighting at the Capitol to keep our program and others like it alive. Some legislation passed last year and more proposed legislation this year would have had such an impact on our funding and operations that we would not be able to continue. Fortunately, at this point, it looks like we are in the clear and will be able to continue fielding a program. 

We have something really special here. Marching Band can be tough at times because it is, without question, a significant commitment of time, money, and effort. I believe in what it does for students, and the benefits that those who participate reap. There is a reason so many of our students go on to receive scholarships, become Aviator Scholars, and are so prepared for post-high school life. The students who participate and learn to push through the "hard" learn lessons that very few other high school activities can teach them.
