Dear Crimson Regiment,
The school year may be wrapping up, but marching band is just getting started! Please see the important points below:
Schedule Reminder:
Please remember to keep your eye on our schedule. The link to the google calendar can be found here. You may also find a list of dates, rehearsals, performances, etc. in the contract which can be found here. Thanks to all who have sent absence excusal requests for the summer! A note - we do have rehearsal today even though there is a CVHS band concert tonight. We will end rehearsal today at 4:30 to give students time to go home and eat dinner and prepare for the concert.
Last day for shoe order:
We need each student to fill out the shoe order form here. Many have already done so. I will be placing the order for shoes on Friday, May 14 at about 1:00. Even if you do not need shoes, please fill out the form and indicate so.
Grades:
We are in the final stretches of the school year. It is so important that you stay on top of your grades. We expect students in the Crimson Regiment to be top notch students. UHSAA requires that students be academically elegible to participate in activities. You may not have more than one F or below a 2.0 GPA and still participate in marching band. Parents, when grades are finalized, a report card will need to be uploaded to Register My Athlete to ensure elegibility.
Deadlines Reminder:
Just a reminder that June 11 is the magic registration deadline for this season.
Fees are due June 11. They are available to be paid now through myschoolfees.com
A Physical is required and the UHSAA Physical Form must be filled out by a doctor.
Register My Athlete will open June 1. Between June 1 and June 11, students and parents will:
- Sign the Contract
- Sign other required forms (as required by the school and district)
- Upload the UHSAA Physical form signed by a doctor
- Upload a report card indicating academic eligibility
Student Reminders:
I hope we're all having fun with the season so far. New students, we haven't even really gotten to the fun part of marching band. Right now is when we put in all the work to make sure the Crimson Regiment is the very best it can be, and later we get to reap the benefits of our hard work now. Make sure you are practicing your marching band instrument, learning (and starting to memorize) the fundamentals packet, and learning and memorizing Danger Zone and the Fight Song. The more work we put in now, the better off we will be later on. Thank you for doing what you do!
As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Mitch Hall
